Patient Care Technicians ( known as PCT's/PCA's or Nurse Techs)
play a vital role in patient care. Whether you are working in a hospital, doctor’s office, nursing home, or long-term care (LTC) facility, you’ll be working directly with patients and hand-in-hand with nurses.
Patient Care includes but is not limited to:
Drawing blood
Performing EKG's
Administering IVs
Serving meals
Changing bedding
Assisting with restroom needs
Measuring and monitoring vital signs
Managing food and liquid intake
Handling safety checks
Offering emotional support to patients and families
*Certified CNA's can sit for our PCT/PCA certification exam if they have completed a course in phlebotomy and EKG.
